Eudokia, meaning good thought in greek was repeated widely in the Hebrew Old Testament to refer to God's good pleasure in His people and His creation. I'd like to think about the moment of creating a sculpture as an Eudokia moment, of pleasure, delight and good will. As I was constructing  the variable pieces that come together in this sculpture, I was intrigued in understanding the pleasure God had when creating man and the earth. Believing that creating an object is equally an experience and a result, I was interested in constructing an abstract representation of what one feels when taking pleasure in experimenting, discovering and finally gazing over the art object. There exists an intimate connection between the maker and the creation, and my wish was to reflect on that connecting while making the sculpture.
